Sequel. Original script called 'Tron: Invasion' was developed which would see digital characters crossover into the real world. This idea was later scrapped. New script then developed titled 'Tron: Ascension'. Director John Kosinski and the cast of 'Tron: Legacy' all signed on to return but project was cancelled due to concerns over Kosinski's production choices. A franchise reboot starring Jared Leto was then being developed but this also did not move forward. In 2019 John Ridley was developing a Tron series with ABC for Disney+ which would act as a sequel to 'Legacy' but this also was cancelled in favor of developing a new movie. As of 2020 a new script is being written titled 'Tron: Ares' - Jared Leto will star and Garth Davis is attached to direct.

Disney have been trying to develop a sequel since 1989. Several different stories and scripts have been developed, including both prequels and sequels. One script was a buddy-cop style movie starring Roger Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. Test footage was shot for a different script but Disney didn't like it. Another test was shot for another script converting all toons into CGi but budget issues shut it down. Alan Menkin wrote 5 songs for one of the scripts. As of 2019 director Robert Zemeckis says the final script is "wonderful" and waiting to be green-lit.

Been no new info on this project since 2015 as development paused in favor of 'Peter Pan and Wendy' (2022) but Disney still have plans for the property.

Stop-motion movie based on the Neil Gaiman novel. Henry Selick was attached to direct but left the project due to delays. Ron Howard now attached to direct but as of 2020 there has been no movement on the project.

The Museum of the Weird

Disney theme park creators Rolly Crump and Claude Coats designed the Museum of the Weird, the unmade adjunct to the Haunted Mansion.

Ahmet Zappa in talks to write the script. Based on a scrapped Haunted Mansion extension that was to include Magical Artefacts, the movie will be a big family adventure revolving around magical items in a museum. Said to be influenced by Night at the Museum and The Mummy.
